About Me
Hi, my name is Emma, I live in Wales and this is my little blog and review page, newly created as an oasis to direct all my reading and book thoughts, ideas and appreciations. As well as my love of books and reading, the rest of my time is either spent outdoors, on the coast, in the mountains or woods, or in the office with the Welsh Ambulance Service. I studied English, as well as sport science, at University and have an MA in Creative Writing with the Open University.
I rebooted my (empty) Twitter account a few months ago and was intrigued and wholly amazed at the reading and #booktwitter community thriving there and offering so much (a kinship of brilliance, really); so much so that it has encouraged me to try a blog of my own. I’m looking to share my passion for books and to connect with fellow book lovers.
A range of genres sit on my shelves; I am particularly fond of Historical Fiction, Contemporary, Literary Fiction, Fantasy and Science Fiction, as well as Nature and Adventure narrative (non-fiction). Note: one bookcase is also full of Tolkien, floor to ceiling. Another aim for this blog, too, is to applaud authors in creating these wonderful worlds of escape, open to imagination for so many readers. I don’t know how many times I have finished a book and a week later, my mind is still happily hooked in that world.
This venture is also an attempt to help ground myself and keep me proactive and I hope my little blog may pleasantly distract for a little peace from reality.
